When A Fire Starts To Burn

a meditation + pre-release for you

Today’s meditation will give you a chance to release any lingering energies that may have occurred during mercury retrograde.

Any lessons you learned during that time should be allowed to stay with you, but the elements of embarrassment, frustration or regret can be let go. We’re calling in the heat of the Aries full moon to energize this meditation. As an Aries Sun and Moon, this fire sign is always willing to move forward and let the past be in the past—I know from personal experience.

I know that I’m ready for a bit of a reset and a reminder that now is good.

Added bonus: the Disclosure song I referenced in the title :)

Find a comfortable seated position, letting the muscles in the face relax and the shoulders roll down the back. Move your attention to your breath, notice how it flows in and out of the body with ease. It brings you strength, lighting up the body with invisible energy. The inhales travel deep into the center of the body, the exhales float like clouds crossing the sky.

Now, bring the hands in front of the belly button. With the palms facing up, lay the right hand on top of the left.

Focus the mind’s eye on the hands, imagining a small flame floating in the center of the palms. With every breath the flame grows stronger, your personal energy has taken on this cleansing form. You are in control of the size and shape of the fire, it rests in your palms ready to alchemize whatever you wish.

With the fire a comfortable size, envision whatever it is you wish to release. You can either imagine three dimensional words to drop into the flame or create visual symbols of the burdens.

Whatever you decide, don’t overthink it, just allow the images and words to come forward.

When you’re ready, begin to drop them into the fire that rests in your hands.

One by one watch them fall and be consumed by the orange and yellow light. Your fire has the special ability to transform your burdens into a golden mist, leaving no trace behind for you to have to manage. Watch as the mist floats away into the ether, freed from its former heaviness.

When energies become stale, they harden and weigh you down. With each offering that you send to the fire, you feel lighter. You don’t need to hold onto things that no longer serve you.

The fire warms you, reawakening the high vibrations that may have fallen asleep. The flame glows into the heart, warming every corner and showering it with light.

When you’ve given everything you need to give to the fire, move the hands apart, opening them to the sides of the body. Turn the palms down, bringing them to rest on either side of the hips, connecting with the support below. The earth is always here to sustain you, recenter you and grow with you.

To close this meditation, bring your palms together in front of your heart, giving gratitude to yourself for showing up today.

Here’s to moving forward with intention and warmth.

Thank you for being with me today, I’ll see you next time.
